Birgitte Borck

Workpackage 24 Deputy LeaderDr Birgitte Borck graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (RVAU), Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1995. In 2003, she acquired a PhD in veterinary microbiology: Campylobacter spp. in the Danish turkey production. The work was carried out at the Danish Institute for Food and Veterinary Research (DFVF), Department of Poultry, Fish and Fur Animals, ๏ฟฝrhus, Denmark, and the Institute of Veterinary Microbiology (RVAU).
Since 2002 Birgitte has been employed at the Danish Zoonosis Centre, at DFVF, Copenhagen, Denmark. Here she has worked primarily with monitoring surveillance programmes on zoonotic agents in Denmark. Since 2005 she has also been the project coordinator for a project assisting the European Food Safety Authority in collecting, analysing and presenting data for the Community Report on Zoonoses in the EU and Norway.
In February 2008 Birgitte joined the Med-Vet-Net Science Communication Internship.
