Science Communication Intern

Sandrine Lacour is a research engineer at the French Food Safety Agency (AFSSA) in Paris, working on the nematode Trichinella, which is transmitted to humans through consumption of raw or undercooked meat from animals infected with these nematodes.

Her specific area of research looks at the identification of new antigens of Trichinella and the development of new immunological tests to improve the diagnosis of trichinellosis in animals.

In February 2008 Sandrine joined the Med-Vet-Net Science Communication Internship.
